New Habitat

Aufwind recently supported a project of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority in Wuppertal. On the "VohRang" species protection area, shrubs, bushes and trees were cut back to prevent scrub encroachment.

The area is thus to be upgraded to provide a better habitat for insects such as wild bees and butterflies. At the same time, one of the last occurrences of the highly endangered sand lizard in the region will be secured. In recent years, the development of the lizard population has been monitored here, and the insect fauna was registered.

With your support, Aufwind enables the continuation of these important conservation measures. The project shows how valuable the promotion of local conservation activities by organizations like Aufwind can be in order to preserve biodiversity.
