Biological Seed Multiplication

Aufwind supports a project of the Biological Station Mittlere Wupper for the propagation of regional wild plant seeds with a donation of 10,000 EUR.

The aim of the project is to collect and propagate the seeds of around 20 characteristic meadow herbs of the Bergisches Land. This is to be used to create a "Bergische Blühmischung" (mountain flowering mixture) that can be used to enhance species-poor grassland areas from 2023. This will improve the habitat for insects and other animals and promote biodiversity.

After basic stocks have already been collected in recent years, Aufwind is now supporting the further intermediate propagation of species for which there has not been enough seed to date. The support makes it possible to generate sufficient seed for professional cultivation by farmers.
